Welcome to Clean, Safe Care
Ensuring we know what to do to avoid infection and actually doing this every time are two crucial components of delivering safe, clean care. Undertaking clinical procedures such as line insertion or wound or catheter care requires all relevant healthcare professionals to perform evidenced-based practice consistently.
Infection prevention is everyone’s responsibility, as is providing clean and safe care to patients. Robust infection prevention practice is easier to instil than management of the problem, and will provide sustainable reductions in infection rates.
The compendium of tools and guidance contained here aim to support HCAI improvement, further develop knowledge, skills and practice in infection prevention, and form an essential part of an organisation’s plan to implement best practice and embed sustainable reductions in infections whilst creating a culture of continuous improvement.
